Prairie Roubaix Reminder!!
Come on out and ride the Prairie Roubaix on the 12th of December. We will meet in Fletcher at high noon! It will be a good appetizer to the Loon Party that night! For those of you that think this is a fixed race for me to win, I promise I will not win even if I have to stop at the finish line. Best part of all... it is FREE!! (Although it is recommended that you bring a white elephant prize for the winner.)

Caboose

I have a new name for my mountain bike... the Caboose. I could tell by the riders that showed up that I could be in a little trouble but actually it went great. The group rode well together and it was a lot of fun. It was great to see Jake again! Russ and Quang were very strong and we made for a great group. Thanks you guys!

Fortunate

I like that word. It came up in the comments from a couple of days ago. Today I felt very fortunate! I started the day off by riding the mountain bike trails with The Cross Shark, then I rode a loop with Paul and I got to talk to Hemi and his kid Superman. Great start to a great day.
Then I played urban geocaching by riding to my Aunt's house for Thanksgiving dinner. It was a nice ride and we had a great time and good food at her house. I had plugged in her coordinates on my Garmin and found my way to her house. That was pretty fun!
We ended up at my brother in law's place and had a very nice evening with family and friends. We met some new friends and it was a lot of fun. The turkey was out of this world! As was the lemonade. I think we could get one of the new friends out for a ride!
Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

Food Shelf
I volunteered there this morning. It should be a required activity. We went with the food we collected at our school's food drive and worked for a couple hours. In the age of the $5,000 bicycle it sure can make you feel kind of silly. I am thankful for the many people that volunteer at the shelf regularly. Maybe the Northwest Geeks should sign up for a few shifts?

I love our group!

We need a name. We are certainly not the Loons. I have always liked the Northwest Geeks but I don't think anyone else would like that. Whatever you call us, I love it. It is so together and fun. I think that Rod may even come over for some Monday and Wednesday rides next summer. He had a great time and thought we were fortunate to have found each other. I feel the same! In other words I am thankful for our group. Happy Thanksgiving!

The McCentury

Unbelievable! 105 miles on November 21st! Hemi thinks it was the best ride of the year and I would have to go with him on that one! It was delightful. Russ showed us a new way to make the Huemann 100K better with some new roads. We had 8 at the start and it made for wonderful conversation the whole way. The finish was hard with strong south winds but every ride needs and has a little bit of that. It is called the McCentury because we ate at McDonald's and had those kind of treats along the way. Thank you all for coming out! That was sooooo fun!
